Bullion Mountain

Adventure beckoned. The objective today was Bullion Mountain located in Hatcher Pass. Bullion Mountain (4,751') is a fairly straightforward climb with excellent views. I decided to spice up the route a bit by running the ridge to the summit. If I can find a ridge, I will run it. My adventure was only 2.75 hours, but 100% spiritually rejuvenating. I also crossed another mountain off the list!

The long and winding road through Hatcher Pass.

You can see a portion of the ridge that I'm about to run. Awesome!

Bullion Mountain in the distance. It looks eerie, but actually quite benign.

Glancing back at the other portion of the ridge I just ran. Awesome!

A quintessential view from the summit of Bullion Mountain. Awesome!

South Fork Eagle River Ridge

Adventure beckoned. Today my adventure took me to South Fork Eagle River to run a fantastic ridge. My family picked berries and I crossed three more mountains off my list: 4219, 4603, and 4656. Despite wind and looming rain clouds, I managed to experience an outing with no rain. Yesterday, Anchorage set a weather record with 28 straight days of rain! I don't think it has rained yet, but the day isn't over. God blessed me today with dry weather and views. I was able to clearly see Eagle Peak, Cantata Peak, Triangle Peak, Hurdygurdy Mountain, Temptation Peak, and Calliope to name only a few. A great day to be a mountain runner in Alaska!

Triangle Peak is the brown triangle in the middle of the picture.

I'm not sure who this guy is. He does look familiar though.

Flattop Mtn, Peak 2, & Peak 3

Adventure beckoned. Our Anchorage summer has been rainy, cloudy, and gloomy. I can count the number of sunny days on one hand. Today I ran up Flattop Mountain, Peak 2, and Peak 3 with a familiar friend: Fog. Sit back and enjoy the views!
