Adventure beckoned. Well, somewhat. In an effort to brighten my spirits, I endeavored to climb one of the Suicide Peaks via Hauser's gully. However, the wind, low clouds, and remaining snow in the gully dampened my will. I turned around and ran up the ridge that leads to McHugh Peak. Although not inspirational, the dogs had fun.

Adventure beckoned. Jason, Swift, Tundra, Ben and I elected to head up Gordon Lyon and over to Highland Mountain. The chilly gray Anchorage weather tagged along again to add consistency to this summer's adventures. Nevertheless, we all enjoyed a few hours in the hills!

Adventure beckoned. The summit of Homicide Peak was calling Swift, Tundra, and me. Today was psychologically grueling. It wasn't about the long steep ascent, cold bitter winds, traversing snow gullies, unexpected snow flurries at the summit, or even the name of the peak...it was following continuous bear scat for 4.5 miles uphill through shoulder high vegetation and then having to repeat the daunting task on the return from the summit. Spooky!
