Wolverine Peak

Adventure beckoned. My wife and I took advantage of another fantastic day in Anchorage with a hike up Wolverine Peak. This was my wife's first time up the mountain--and hopefully not her last! I loved being with her today in the backcountry. We had an adventurous seven hour day. Thanks Isty!

Quadruple Bypass

Adventure beckoned. There is nothing better to cleanse and renew the body, mind, and soul than to climb four mountains in five hours of Alaska adventure running. After work, Jesse, Eliseo, and I tackled Mt. Magnificent, Vista Peak, Roundtop Mountain, and Blacktail Rocks Ptarmigan on a classic Thursday Evening Epic! Amen.

O'Malley Peak

Adventure beckoned. On a glorious Saturday under sun and blue skies, my running crew (Tundra and Swift) and I ran  O'Malley Peak in 2 hours 40 minutes. There was just enough water in various mud puddles, creeks, and snow fields to accommodate my dogs' continual panting. Although the run along the Ball Field and up to the summit is an "easy" run by mountain standards, it is always fun to push your body. I love the reward of generous views of the surrounding peaks and serenity. Amen!

Double Suicide

Adventure beckoned. Todd Kasteler, Swift, Tundra, and I opted for a challenging Sunday run--Double Suicide (South Suicide and North Suicide).

The route started with a run to Rabbit Lake and then a grind up Hauser's Gully to the summit of South Suicide. After taking an array of photos, we blasted down the peak and up North Suicide. The views were basically obscured but our spirits were jazzed. Our descent off the peak was a bit unconventional in that we elected on the steep Nausea Gully. A careful descent deposited us at the base of the Suicide peaks--back to where we started. After taking off our wind gear and removing the rocks from our shoes, the run back to the truck was slow and relaxed. Depleted but fulfilled!

Thanks for another dandy 5 hour Spiritual Adventure! Amen.

Mt. Hood

Adventure beckoned. Mt. Hood--the highest peak in Oregon! Other than stiff cold winds on the mountain, I couldn't ask for better conditions. Thank you God!

Fear not, for I am with you. Isaiah 43:5
